empower

How do we empower indigenous leaders? We empower our leaders through 1) providing opportunities to lead, 2) equipping them to lead, and 3) allowing them to lead.

Each of our 20+ YFC Asia Pacific national programs are led by indigenous, local leaders. The Asia Pacific office assists each local program to be able to take responsibility for the leadership, management, funding, and growth of their national ministries.

Some examples of how we empower our leaders include:

  • Coaching -- teaching our leaders how to effectively Coach others so they can more effectively do the work themselves

  • Partnerships -- connecting our national programs with outside funding and support systems

  • USA Liason Staffing Support -- providing a full-time resource to assist national programs to connect to USA individuals, churches, and foundations.

  • Spiritual Support -- coordinating and communicating prayer needs and requests

  • YFCI Young Leader Development and Empowerment Process

  • Project Servant -- Providing committed volunteers an opportunity to take on leadership of a strategic ministry area

  • Resources -- providing training materials and online education

Empowering indigenous leaders is a primary focus of the YFC Asia Pacific Area office.

YFC Asia Pacific communicated the needs of YFC Myanmar to respond to the recent cyclone disaster. We then helped coordinate getting the resources into the hands of our local staff to assist.

We have completed the first phase of our Coaching training rollout to Asia Pacific. Seven leaders are now trained and will go back to their regions and help train other leaders from our national programs to train national staff over the next two years.

Connecting our indigenous national programs to interested partners in the USA and other countries is a rol of the YFC Asia Pacific Area office. Here, Scott is introducing Maxim and Pavel from Kazakhstan to supporters in Denver.
